GYC's The Mission 5K is a fun run that raises money for yearly GYC mission projects. Our annual 5K is held in conjunction with GYC's conference in a different city around the United States each year. This year Houston hosts us in the Buffalo Bayou Park at 6:00 AM on December 31st.
When: Monday December 31 at 6:00 AM.
Location: The race will start at Eleanor Tinsley Park within Buffalo Bayou Park across the river from the Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark (103 Sabine St, Houston, TX 77007). Please review the course map.
Registration: Registration will be both online, with packet pickup in GYC's exhibit hall within the GRB Convention Center (1001 Avenida De Las Americas, Houston, TX 77010) during the exhibit hall hours (outside of Fri evening and daylight hours on Sat). There will be NO race day registration. Registration and final packet pickup will close when the exhibit hall closes Sunday night at GYC.
Shirts: Race shirts will be available to the first 200 people at packet pickup.
Medals: There will be a finisher's medal for the first 200 who complete the race.
Awards: There will be overall medals for the top three male and female finishers.
Rules: Obey all instructions from race and safety officials. Wear your bib on your outermost layer of clothing so you can be identified as a participant, and that the chip can be read by the timing mats.
